Not really . . the Hectic is the better ball, and the Match Up Pearl hooks a good 3-4 boards more.  Match Up Pearl should be good with whatever layout you want to put on it, it's more a matter of it "matching up" with your game.  It doesn't with mine, but in the right hands it can be really good.  It's stronger throughout the entire lane, stronger early, and stronger off friction.
