Quick off friction?
« on: February 12, 2009, 03:02:06 PM »
Hello,
I'm looking for a ball in the current Storm lineup that can handle some oil, but save energy and be quick off friction. I'm bowling in a 40/42 foot sport pattern - and all my rolly balls (MoRich LevRG) aren't doing too well. I switched to a Ebonite No Limit 1000 abralon polished, and I liked its reaction MUCH better. I know quick off friction balls aren't always good for sport patterns...but roll is pretty forward, so that will tame some of the snapiness. Thanks for hearing my rant!

take a Virtual with surface at 4000 abralon + polish or a 2nd Dimension should work well

Actually, do you think LevRG at 4000 abralon + polish would do the trick?
I'm just thinking of using what I currrently have, but other suggestions are greatly appreciated!

The T-Road Pearl will give you the reaction you seek.

Will the T-Road Pearl be able to handle the slightly heavier volumes of oil? Is the Rapid Fire Pearl the way to go?

Yes the T-Road pearl can. Here is a video courtesy of Buddies that shows a more up the back style stroker using the ball on both lighter and heavier volumes of oil.

Hy Road is what I was thinking.  It is extremely quick off the dry and it is a very large move.

And on this 42 foot pattern, am I looking to create more forward roll? Or am I looking to put more axis rotation on it? Hitting the pocket was not a given, but when I do, I wanna carry as well. Maybe slowing down and getting around the side a bit more?

Rapid fire pearl is the quickest ball off of friction that I've ever thrown.  quicker than the t-road pearl amazingly...same type of kick off friction, just harder.

If your looking to go storm.... Virtual Gravity hands down! But on a side note your Levrg with the right surface should work fine.
