Difference in Gravity Shift and T Road Pearl
« on: February 14, 2009, 01:11:16 PM »
Noticed these balls have the same coverstock, but different cores. Is there much difference in the reaction on the lane. I was looking for something to use behind my gravity shift the second and third game when the oil in the heads is pushed down. Thought T road pearl might be a good choice  but now I wonder since they have the same cover.

they do not have the same coverstock.

t-road r2s
gravity r2x

both pearl

unless you lay out the t-road pearl drastically differently then it will cover the same boards as the gravity... another words they are designed to handle very similar conditions and you will most likely end up with an overlap.

Ditto.  Different covers different cores.  Very different balls.

Gravity Shift is a typical strong asymmetric pearl with medium length and a very strong arc.  T-Road Pearl is longer and a bit of a snap response at the end (assuming some real dry to bank off of).  Gravity is a good 5-7 boards stronger for me.

Storm rates the Gravity Shift for medium-heavy oil and the T-Road Pearl for medium, which is my experience, especially once I brought the GS down to 1000 abralon.  I find the two balls complement each other nicely.

I just dropped my GS off to have it plugged and drilled to give me more lenght and the aggressive snap on the backend that I get from the T-Road Pearl.  can't wait to try it out Wednesday night during leagues.

Thanks for the responses. I picked up a used T Road and will adjust the surface to 1000 polished and try it after the lanes break down behind my gravity shift which has been money for me on our fresh shot.
