4000 abralon finsish on a storm pearl?
« on: February 11, 2007, 05:19:26 AM »
Can you put a 4000 abralon finish on a storm pearl.  I have a thunderstruck pearl and want it to go longer. it is a 4 and 1/2 pin above the fingers.
Polish it more? or would 4000 abralon finish work?

thanks for any posts

timw, as I posted just now in your other thread, 4000 is so fine that it will actually take the gloss off the ball. It isn't rough enough to take down the surface, but it will actually smooth out the ball. It won't make it so violant off the dry. If your are looking for it go longer, chances are you would like throw a light coat of polish on it.

thanks, so you can up the grit to 4000 and put a light polish on it and that should increase the length and make the move milder, if I understand correctly

My best advice if your looking for some length and smoother off the breakpoint would be to polish it and then just hit 2 sides of the ball with that abralon pad. Try that and see how it goes.
