Storm Son!Q
« on: March 20, 2018, 12:40:19 PM »
Storm Son!Q (Layout 65 x 5 x 40)
Low RG 2.47 – Medium Differential 0.045 (16#)
Centripital HD Core
R2S Pearl Reactive Coverstock

The Storm Son!Q is a special ball; one that everyone should have in their bag.  Here’s why this ball is so special.  The low RG of this ball lets the ball rev up earlier than most, paired with a medium differential that doesn’t make it hook uncontrollably.  The coverstock really tames that low RG from taking off from the friction spot, but still has enough energy to carry the rack from anywhere.  This ball reaction is like no other so be sure to give it a shot!

Personal Experience:
I have thrown this ball in a league 4 out of the 5 weeks that I have had the ball, and each week I have beaten my league average by 15-30 pins per game, not to mention a 299.  I have also thrown this ball in tournaments on medium length patterns with medium-high volume and it continues to prove why it is the best ball on the market.  This ball will enhance your game, like it did mine!

2 Honor Scores since 2/9/2018 – 299, 300

The review itself was decent,  but you don't have to say its a must have.

Hmm . . propaganda propaganda . . .047 is a medium diff??  Ok . . the pearl cover tames the low RG down and keeps it from jumping off the friction spot . . um, probably the other way around but sure . . now it DOES carry off hits well, I'll buy that.  Different look for a Storm ball too actually, maybe not like no other . .

Figjam, figjam, figjam, propaganda, propaganda, figjam.  Yup, he's a staffer!!

It ain't free if you have to whore yourself every release.  Sure many don't mind but it is nice to not owe anybody crap and call out turds.  Changed my review for example on my More Cash as that ball has been nothing but a disappointment.  Brunswick and others would probably prefer I don't review balls after they are on clearance or often not even available any more for example.
Kind of noob when made this account so take advice with grain of salt.

The Son!q is special because of how smooth it is despite being a shiny R2S pearl ball. I agree with Luke. It isn't the cover that makes it smooth. If these people are staffers, manufacturers need to do a better job educating them. So much ignorance and spewing of utter nonsense. Maybe the hope is that these people are selling balls to the ignorant public.

You don't think it's the coverstock that tames the ball reaction?  You think it's the core?  In your opinion what would you consider a 0.045 or 0.047 differential..?

My Opinion:
Low Diff up to 0.035
Med Diff 0.035 to 0.049
High Diff 0.049 to 0.060

Storm did use a credit system for the local staffers. Not sure if they still do. So not every ball is free to the staffer. If you do all of these review sites plus a video, then the ball will be "free" as you would earn enough credits to cover the ball with a few credits to spare.

While I am a staffer, I don't get every release for FREE.  I do have access to the equipment prior to the public, however it is for marketing and promotional purposes.  My "job" is to promote and give my opinion on the current product line.

So what happens when your "job" to promote the product conflicts with your "actual" opinion? Do you tell it like you actually see it? Or do you Fib and do your "job"?

Don't bother trying to say that you haven't had any balls that didn't work out for you.

Most staffers lie to keep their ball company happy. I know lots of staffers and their real opinions are sometimes nothing like their review. Some of them post here. They HAVE to spew their company bs because it's how they keep their contract. Heck, a long while ago, a video ball reviewer that I spoke to had a video that totally different from the script for it. I private messaged him and called him out on it, and he was like "If I say anything bad, they won't send me any more balls."

Ball companies, you sometimes make turds. Let your staffers be honest without fear of recrimination.

I felt like that with the previous company I was representing.. however I could not compete with the product so I stepped away from that brand.  I can honestly say that out of the 18 Storm/Roto balls I have drilled so far, I have only had 1 not turn out the way I hoped for.  So.. 17 out of 18 isn't a bad ratio by any means.. (94%)
