Storm Staffer Tommy Gollick records 47 strikes in a row

Congrats to Tommy Gollick for recording 47 consecutive strikes at Red Crown Tuesday evening.

Tommy started with a split in frame one and finishing withh 11 strikes in a row for 279. He then went 300, 300, 300 for a total of 1179 for his 4 game set. Truly an amazing accomplishment.

Wow, great bowling.

What really sucks is they count the first 3 games for "series" so no 900 award. I would give him one anyway for such an amazing feat. Just amazing bowling.

Actually Jorge, if you bowl in a sanctioned 4 game league, you can count games 1-3 or 2-4 as a 3 game set, we use to have a 4 game league around here and i seen a guy shoot 800 like that. Awsome shooting by the way!

Is that a rule that changed?  I did that several years ago in a sanctioned doubles league and the series was denied because it was not the first three games.  Either way, I hope he gets credit for it.

I would like to know if that has changed also. My high three game set is the back three of a four game league series and I didn't get any recognition for it. I also had a buddy shoot 802 the back three that same year and it would have been his one and only 800 before he got fed up with the game and quit.

Maybe the league secretary submitted it different or not by the official rules, it wasnt for me, sorry for the confussion

Thanks everyone! I am just speechless right now. I am in utter disblief.

I used an Invasion for the entire set. To carry 47 in a row, wow, I just can't beleive I am saying that.

I don't think this counts for a 900 sreies, though. USBC reconizes the first three games of a four game set. The 879 gave me house record by 1 pin, and the 47 in a row may be a national record, but I don't know if they count that or not. It would be great to be in the record books though.
