Storm Ion Pro

I have always drilled my IQ Tour’s slightly medium but find that sometimes I need alittle more pop, adjacent to that my Phaze II’s may be a tad stronger than I need it to be when I want to play alittle straighter in the front part of the lane.

The Ion Pro to me fit right in the middle, not only is it just as strong but not overly strong, it continues more than the IQ Tour when there is alittle more oil down lane and alittle less friction.

We decided to drill mind pin under the middle 4 inches from my pap (4 3/4 over by 1 up) be it hybrid, I like to keep my medium type balls in the light 2-3000K area.

If you are looking for something alittle calmer than a Phaze II but alittle stand uppy-er than your IQ Tour, the Ion Pro is going to be the shape you’ll like.

The New Storm Ion Pro is the next step in dependable and controllable ball motion. The Element Tour A.I. core offers a low RG, medium differential, and mild asymmetry. This combination offers the midline read of asymmetric equipment, but the smooth and stable ball reaction seen out of equipment like the IQ Tour and Phaze 2. I drilled my Ion Pro 4.75x4x4 2ls which is my benchmark asymmetric layout. Given that the Ion Pro has TX-16 hybrid overstock, I knew that this was going to be a transition ball because it was not going to be too early through the fronts but its not as clean as the Tour Dynam-x from the previous year. This ball handles surface changes surprisingly well and can definitely be used when the patters are just dead hard or cliffed up on the fresh with just a medium amount of volume.

This new Storm Ion Pro gives everyone the benchmark shape they need! I drilled the Ion Pro 4 3/4 x 4 1/2 x 2 using vls. This layout gives me more continuation through the lane, while still reading the midlanes. This ball gives the true benchmark shape. It is very smooth and controllable while being one of the most versatile balls made. I also drilled an Ion Pro pin down, this gives me relatively the same motion, just reads the lane earlier compared to the pin up Ion Pro. The Element Tour-Ai core inside of the new Tx-16 hybrid coverstock gives the ball a more continuous motion compared to its big brother, the Phase 2. This ball fits the 2-3 ball spot for me in a 6-ball tournament bag, and this one will be a staple in the bag!
