Sync vs Invasion
« on: December 25, 2012, 11:09:08 PM »
I didn't want to put this in my other post because there is already so much going on in that post.

My "concern" (or rather, my curiosity) is how does the Sync compare to the Invasion?

I remember ALOT of the people that had the Invasion said they hated it because they said it would puke on the backend even when used on the right condition (because it was an earlier rolling ball by nature compared to 95% of the other Storm balls), and alot of those people got rid of their's because of that fact... then when the Nano came out, those people swore by it because it was a Heavy Oil ball that still backended. To many, the Nano was the ball they thought the Invasion should have been.

Some of the reports that have come out, just reading between the lines, it seems like the Sync is closer to the what the Invasion was compared to what the Nano is?

I wonder what Storm's "design intent" was when coming up with the Sync? What did Hank see going on in the market that "required" the Sync to be designed when the ball reaction of the Nano has been such a favorite with so many people on Heavy Oil?

Any info is greatly appreciated.

I would say the SYNC is smoother and much more continuous than any other heavy oil ball Storm has made.

To me the MARVEL was closest to the INVASION while the SYNC is a combination of the best of the NANO and LUCID, as I said in my review.

In other words, if you didn't like the INVASION because it was so aggressive at the spot and would quit on you, the SYNC is your answer.

From what you say Riggs, the Sync sounds a lot like a Defiant but more forgiving. When I had my Defiant and then got a Raging Bull Stampede from Seismic, I sold the Defiant as the Stampede was smoother, more continuous and carried better. Looking forward to seeing how the Sync compares the the Raging Bull Stampede, I'm guessing they will be very similar at equal surfaces and layouts.

I agree with riggs' allegations, your honor...the ball is going to be "the ball" to get!

I get a "better" move off the spot than i did with the shaplock hd hookshape..i like mostly everything they put out, becuase eventually i find its spot in my bag.  The sync is a step further in the vg nano direction...not the invasion or vivid...just further and better..throwing the entire line up high end peices...this one catches the eye better, and is "literally" more fun to throw.   I dont get that "rolly" vibe like i do with the invasion or vivid...i get this new movement...in my case its quite a bit..

Its going to be interesting to hear everyones comparisons cause i feel you will be able to say a great deal of positive things about this ball.

I call is the hybrid thats not a hybrid cover..or 'frankenball' cuz i see alot of the strengths from the past combined into this new one.

Oh yeah the # are big! Lol
