PYRO.....first impressions!!!
« on: March 22, 2006, 02:25:46 AM »
Specs:  15lb 3oz top and 2 1/2inch pin

ME:  Left handed power tweener (usually play around 15 at arrows to around 5 on fresh THS)

Drilling:  Drilled this with pin one inch under ring with cg kicked out 1 inch to left from being stacked with small balance hole on my val in the thumb quadrant to bring side weight to 1/4 and the thumb to 0.

Condition:  THS  old wood lanes with guardian 35 foot.  Basic christmas tree pattern with oil from 8 to 8 in heads.

My impression:  IS WOW!!!  Not at all what i expected.  I normally play 15 at arrows with my feet starting at 25 and normally swing to 5 and back with my polished epic battle.  Get in practice throw that shot and as soon as it hit arrows it was grabbing and i took out the 6 10.  Next shot i move to 32 with my feet and hit 23 at arrows and swing out to 8 and it came roaring back with vengence this ball has a vicious angle to the pocket.  My first impression is that this ball is basically the fired up on steroids, better check this one for thg and other performance inhancers cause i think it is roided up.   League started I threw a nice tug and went brooklyn for a  nice spare on the 4 and then proceeded to throw the next 8.  First ball in tenth was a stone 8. Got out of it a little to clean giving it that little bit extra rev thing tore up a little high flush.  then throw x for fill for a  nice 279 oob with this ball.  I then start out next game by throwing the front five and i could see that the heads were getting broken down but i was trying to force it.  Left a pocket 7-10 in the 6th, high flush 7-9 in seventh, stone 9, then fast 6 in 8th and 9th, and then a another pocket 7-10 in tenth for a very dissappointing 210 game.  Needless to say i switched balls for last game went with my pin on the axis saturn made 20 board move and shot a very satifiying 258 my last game with 2 flat sevens from bad releases all in all a good night with a 747.  They say this ball fits between the diablo and the fired up that maybe true cause my diablo moves alot earlier than this ball with a nice big arc and my fired up travels farther with nice harc arc to pocket, all three of these balls are drilled pretty similar i might add.  The pyro definately gets more length than the diablo and definately has much bigger move than the fired up and much more angular.  All in all a great piece from storm  I have loved the whole fire series it is great a must buy for all your storm chasers out there!!  Solid 9 of ten in my book 10 beeing saved for that one ball that gives me the perfect 900 or maybe i just need to go bowl in that alley where mustare bowls anyhoo i think what i am suposed to say here is thank you and I'm out.

I need to get one, my teammate was throwing on last night and that ball was sideways on the backend! One of the sickest moves I have seen a ball do. This ball has sick continuation also! I was thinking, that thing is a particle??????

My first impression with the Pyro!!  Watched a Storm Rep bowling as a sub in a league that changes the shot every week.  Not a Sport shot persay, but changes every week.  This guy has subbed maybe three times all year.  He comes in last Thursday and shoots 300 with his new PYRO!!!  Now, that is a nice first impression!!!  And a lasting one for him!!

Ok, I am a tweener, drilled stacked with Pin 3/4 over and under from ring finger.  Small balance hole to bring back to .5 oz pos.

Synthetic lanes, ths...

First 3 games out of the box, 726.  Its early, but as of now, this is my favorite ball out of the bunch.  I am a huge Storm fan, but this seems to be my first ball, that I can destroy the pins at almost any angle.  So far with this ball, it seems to be the best carrying ball I have ever seen.  I originally bought the Fired up, and love it, but is very shots specific.  Now with this particle load, it was very consistent, and read the lanes very nicely.  Hope this ball holds up well, want to post some honor scores with this bad boy...great job Storm.

Ok a followup threw it a second time on a med condition and was playing deep inside shot 279 first game with a stone 8 in 8th frame.  Had to put it away in second game it broke down the heads couldnt get it to break point.  Then finally found what i should be throwing and shot a 268 the last game for a sloid 720.  Can't wait til i can find a higher volume of oil so i can use it for more than one game.
