The Triple is only a 3 1/2 year old ball. House conditions have not changed that much since this ball was new. Where you may see a big difference, is on the tour, where the oils are very slick, and the Brunswick machine oils a bit differently than Kegel machines.
I noticed that you have an abralon finish on the ball. The use of Abralon pads today have really changed ball characteristics when rolling down a lane. You can sometimes make an older ball read better with the use of an abralon pad today, then when it was new, and abralon was not out yet, and we just used sand paper and scotchbrite.
I recently dug out of my basement my Hot Rod Pro Stock pearl, and opened up the lanes to shoot a 750 block at a local tournament a few weeks back. The ball didn't read the fronts the same way my new equipment does. But if I were to use that ball at a regional, it would just dart and dive on me (I tried this last year during a practice session). Hitting it with abralon helped, but the new balls still rolled better. I still throw a lot of older pieces in league play.
There are a lot of great older pieces, that I still carry with me to local tournaments. Some times, I have more margin for error with an older ball when the house tries to put out more challenging conditions, and the more recent cover stocks over read a flatter pattern.
