Storm Vivid 2
« on: March 21, 2012, 01:02:58 PM »
I just recently drilled a new Storm Vivid about 2 weeks ago. I used the ball in league last night a shot 280, 297, and 277. Shot 854 last evening! This ball is a beast! The ball shredded the rack like a hot knife going through butter! I would suggest this ball to anyone. Probably one of the best bowling balls I've thrown in years!! I want to give credit to a great ball driller. Thanks to Keglers Pro Shop owner/operater Mr. TJ Trout. Yet another great addition to my bag! Thanks STORM!!!! Oh, i forgot on fun fact. Averaging 256 with the ball!

nice shooting...

I want the ball, but here in NorCal (sactown), houses don't like using much oil .... especially the house I bowl often.

great score again

Great shooting. What conditions were you playing on? Where on the lane were you playing?

Pin-up or pin down ball? Just curious.

The pin is about an inch below the bridge. The pin is also centered with the span. I bowled on a typical house shot. I tried swinging the ball 15-5 but flagged the head pin. I kept bumping right and barely hit the head pin before practice ended. I played 10 to about 7. With the occasional oops out to about 5. Ball picked up the midlane and very continous through the pins. The carry was great. By the third game, I did bump in to about 12 and out to about 7. This is the same ball that I shot 300 with two weeks ago. I shot 795 for the set. I drilled the Crossroad with the exzact same layout. I really liked the way the ball rolled so TJ (my ball driller) said that we should do the

same in the Vivid. All I can say about the ball is WOW!!!!! I hope this helps.

For anyonethat has thrown both, how does the Vivid compare to the Defiant?

I have the Vivid drilled pin under the bridge about an inch. I find the ball to roll sooner and have a strong arching motion. I find my Definat to be alittle longer and strong down lane. The Defiant is drilled with the pin above the ring finger about an inch to 1 1/2 inches.  In my opinion I find the Defiant to be about three to four boards stronger. The Vivid is much smoother. However, it could be the layouts.
