Byte vs IQ Tour Pearl
« on: January 16, 2014, 12:45:00 PM »
Would like to hear any thoughts on the Byte and IQTP as far as strength of both. It would seem that Byte would be stronger but have seen a lot about how Byte plays less than advertised. Any feedback would be helpful.

Got both, the Byte is stronger and more angular and the IQTP is rollier, more of a hard arc. If I can open up the lanes a bit, I use the Byte, if they're playing a little tight, I use the IQTP. I was disappointed with the Byte when I got it, but I was expecting too much from it. Let's see if some of the other guys chime in, can't go wrong with either one IMHO.

I have both and both have their place. I drilled a Byte to replace an aging Lucid. Even with the same surface,  3000 abralon, the Lucid is 4-5 feet earlier and less motion downlane. At 3000, the Byte is skid/flippy for me. Its a shiny,  lower diff ball. I'm not sure what users were expecting,  the Byte ball motion is exactly what I thought It would be. Its an asymmetric ball that does not "fart out" because the diff is lower. I assume the people perplexed by the motion are lower rev players who need "help" from bigger blocks.

Now, my IQTP is about an arrow weaker than the Byte, I like it better to blend the lane or when I have defined swing AND hold.
