Storm/Made in China?
« on: March 04, 2015, 06:47:08 PM »
Received a 8lb ball today for the grandson and was surprised it had a made in China label attached to it. Just an observation. Not complaining, thought everything was either made in Utah or Texas.

Is it polyester?  If so I think almost all polyester bowling balls from any manufacturer come from China.

Game
It's a Mix, listed as Pearl Urethane, just a starter ball.

That's a thoughtful observation — and totally understandable! A lot of folks assume all bowling balls are made domestically, especially with big names like Storm (Utah) and Ebonite/Brunswick (Texas). But in recent years, some companies have started manufacturing certain models or weight classes overseas, often to keep costs down for entry-level or youth gear.

That 8lb ball was probably one of those lighter, recreational types made for kids or beginners — and those are more commonly sourced from places like China or Vietnam now. Still, it's always a bit surprising when you expect that “Made in USA” tag and see otherwise.

Was it one of the major brands, or a more generic one?
