But in recent years, some companies have started manufacturing certain models or weight classes overseas, often to keep costs down for entry-level or youth gear.
That 8lb ball was probably one of those lighter, recreational types made for kids or beginners — and those are more commonly sourced from places like China or Vietnam now. Still, it's always a bit surprising when you expect that “Made in USA” tag and see otherwise.
