I drove 2 hours to meet and greet with the regional Storm rep in my area. He put on a Storm Open House in Kennewick, WA today. I was able to try a large variety of equipment. This was important to me, as I plan to push Storm in the shop(owners previous relationship).
I tried the following balls:
Invasion, Reign, Virtual Energy, Natural, Nomad Solid, Mutant Cell
--all balls drilled pin above bridge, cg in center of grip, mb below/in thumb hole
Natural--pure butter roll, straight up 4/5 with EXCELLENT carry, great piece
Reign--somewhat skid flip, but didn't seem to hate oil the way many higher rg balls do. It was good playing in the oil, but very good bumping the track area.
Virtual Energy--earlier than the reign, moderately aggressive, certainly not skid/flip. I was 2 and 1 deeper than the Reign.
Nomad Solid--Not as strong as I thought. I was only 1 and 1 stronger than the Reign. I really thought it would be far more aggressive than the Reign. While it was stronger, it wasn't THAT much stronger.
Mutant Cell was pretty aggressive. It was 5 and 3 deeper than anything else I tried up to this point. It made a good move off the spot. I found it to be alittle over/under for me.
Invasion--Stupid on the backend. It was 4 and 2 more than the Mutant Cell. Perhaps alittle more if I really wanted to make it jump. I was quite amazed with the reaction. The videos you see are NO joke, it really is noticeably stronger on the backend than the Virtual Gravity. I was still alittle over/under, but not nearly as much as the MC.
If ya'll have any questions, let me know I'd be glad to answer. FWIW, I bought a Reign and will post a full review once I get it punched.
