Hey, people I need a med oil ball stat!!!! Thought thats what I was getting with the RApid fire pearl WRONG!!! That thing jumped out of the building on burnt up lanes. What would you recommend and why.

The Rapid Fire is tamer than the RF pearl. It's the only ball in my arsenal that I can use on the dry lanes of the league I sub in. Granted I standing 25 and break point is 10...with very little hand. If that's too much, you'll have to look into the Street Rod line.

Confused here...

Med oil ball....but jumped on Burnt Lanes???

Why would you use a Med oil ball on burnt lanes????

Rapid Fire Pearl has done well over here on the meds....and even on the dry with weak drillings...

Can try a Street Rod....but again would be too much on burnt lanes....

maybe i overstated burnt lanes.I have a lot of hand with only average ball speed so even on most fresh house shots I have trouble after a game or so with my current arsenal. Looking for something I can still turn , but doesn't force me up against the ball return. I am thinking Street Rod Pearl w a long pin above fingers w/CG near palm.

Street Rod Pearl would be a good choice.....make sure go with a very weak drilling..and take a touch of shine off to control bp...

If you are open to other suggestions.....

I use a Columbia Jazz for the burnt conditions and it is truly something else...

The RG Neptune is another great choice...

I second the Street Rod Solid.

Just spin it with some xtra shine and it should be good.
Id go 5x4 under fingers to try and catch a roll and let it tame off on the back.

or 2x2 would smooth it out and give u a look u might not have

Also you may want to work on taking some hand out of it on drier lane conditions.  The lanes are already making the ball turn the corner -- it doesn't need much extra help.  This should get you a more controllable ball motion.

I don't know about you guys but if you could find a discontinued Spit Fire that's what i would get. it's worked great today, shooting an all around 624 today.

I vote for the neptune.  Very clean and controllable, yet still gives enough angle for great carry.  A Spitfire or Thunderstruck Pearl would be my 2nd and 3rd choice.

I am consistently amazed at how versatile my T-Road Pearl is.  I played the same burnt lanes this morning with this ball when I wasn't happy with my Cherry Vibe, which is made for lighter oil.  All I had do was move 5 boards left and move my target 2 boards left and it hit hard.

I think the T-Road Pearl comes in just under the HyRoad in the line-up.

I have a 14lb spitfire with the #2 drill pattern 45/16 span with maybe 15 games on it.Still on it's first drilling and the cover is like new.I have thrown two 300 games with it(unfortunately both unsanctioned...sucks).I love the ball but hard times have forced me to sell a few bowling balls to try and make ends meet.If you're interested my email address is Liverpoolh@aol.com.If not have a great holiday.

A Roto Grip Neptune might do the trick...I have one that I use on dry lanes and its money.  The RG Horizon can also be pretty smooth for a pearl ball.

Another suggestion....try a Storm Thunderstruck Solid (the purple one).  Put a weak drilling on it and maybe knock some of the polish it comes with off.  Its a really smooth reacting ball and taking some of the polish off, might just keep it from jumping on friction.

I would recommend the Street Rod Solid.  Very underrated and versatile ball.  A good bench mark ball.

I have the Rapid Fire Pearl and it is very condition specific.  If there is a dry board out there and the ball finds it, it is going left.  I have shot very nice with it, but it isn't a versatile ball for me.

I also have the Spite Fire and it is a great ball for me to use on Med-light.  

I am curious what the people would think of a Sure Fire with the R2S cover stock.

If you want a medium oil stud, Hy-Road. The hybrid cover is clean through the front and not overly jumpy down the lane. This ball works on a lot of conditions as exhibited by the pros who have used it on a variety of "animal" patterns.
