Chipped Ball
« on: October 13, 2005, 09:58:49 AM »
I went bowling today and took a chunk out of my new Screamin' Banshee. I threw it at a seven pen spare and it took a weird hop out of the channel and jumped up and across the lane and hit the back of the lane behind where the ten pen would be. I was wondering what I should do, and if it is safe to use anymore? The missing chunk is not on my track and does not seem to affect the roll of the ball. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

tell your local pro shop owner about it, he will make it into a circle, then fill it, u wont even notice it, better to fill it then to possibly make it more severe by throwing it

Not to mention that it will restore (or come close to it) the original static weights.  Depending on what side the chip is on, you could end up with illegal side weight.

Your pro shop may replace the ball if it's a sufficiently bad chip.  Since it's not in your track, they may choose not to, though.

You should see if the Center will compensate for the damage of your ball. One of my friend had the same thing happen to his ball, and the center took his ball to the Pro Shop behind the center and fill the ball. It will take about 1-2 days tho.
