Understand..... hope it works out for you; Again as I mentioned earlier, there will always be exceptions to the rule ;as in some situations it should be).
If I had to as a last resort, I would BUT ONLY as a last resort. It may work out for you. Let us know.
In this case, the surface adjustment to my SureLock seemed to work. I tested it on a house shot, but I could tell the ball rolled better. Even at 4000, it should be able to handle 45+ oil patterns pretty well.
There is nothing abnormal about making significant surface adjustments. There are too many variables related to ball speed, revs, rotation, etc. for a one size fits all grit on a ball. There are many legitimate reasons to change covers. It happens all the time.
