Not a big Storm fan...

I've got an old pyro lying around. Basically a test ball. I've drilled it 3 times now.

Thinking about throwing a 2000 and some beans on it to see what it does...anyone?

(PS, I've only thrown Ebonite for the last 2 years so it's still just going to be a test ball probably...)

How is it drilled compared to what you normally throw? And what types of balls do you normally throw? The pyro is a pearl particle symmetric. So you have to look at that compared to your normal stuff.

No weight hole.

Right now I think it's at 1000.

I'm just asking as a general rule is this a good idea (the 2000 and beans polish)?

Just curious what people think?

It wasnt one of there best pieces. it was a sensitive cover and hense why they dont use particles anymore in there covers. They can achieve the same additional traction without particles.

Yeah, but for some reason, I can't convince myself I don't like it.

I throw it, put it away, say I hate it, but I always pull it back out, just to check. I've never liked it...but I keep trying it. I can't convince myself to get rid of it.

I hate to break it to you but 99% of high performance balls are particle, they just stopped calling them that because they had such a bad rap!

Well it kind of sounds like you just match up better with ebonite stuff. And there is nothing wrong with that... That layout will give you an earlier roll and a smooth arc on the backend. So polish will get it further down lane and more backend... If that is what it needs to do then i think you are on the right track. It all depends on where you want to play on the lane, and what lane conditions you are bowling on....

The majourity of the newer formulas developed are not the family of particle used in the past. The chemical profile of most covers now have wider pores and a more flexible surface.
