Which ball is stronger? Which ball starts earlier? Which ball has more backend? Which one would you buy and why?

+1 for Marvel Pearl. Strong and predictable.

I've owned both.  I think the Marvel Pearl is overall a tad stronger.  It's has more midlane and the shape of the ball was more of a gradual arcing shape.  It was nice and predictable instead of a skid/snap type motion.

The IQ Fusion still gets through the heads pretty easily, but changes direction a little more quickly down lane.  It definitely has a more skid/snap type feel for me.

+1 well said.   Both good balls with strong motion.  Marvel Pearl is smoother and more predictable.   Fusion is later and snappier by far.

A lot may depend on how you drill them.,  Core is similar, but Marvel Pearl is much higher differential for more flare.  I just drilled out a Marvel Pearl and was very happy with it on a 42 foot Kegel challenge pattern.  However, a bunch of guys were throwing the IQ Fusion and performed well with them also.

I just punched up a IQ Fusion to replace a 2-3 year old Marvel Pearl that's been my workhorse. I wanted something similar to the Marvel Pearl but with a little more backend. Both are drilled identical - 4x60x60 which puts the pin under my ring finger and a x-hole 2.5" down from my PAP.

My pro shop said the Fusion would be stronger than the Marvel Pearl and they were correct with what I've seen so far. Both midlane close to the same place(MP may be 6" earlier) but the main difference is on the backend. Fusion is just stronger on the back and the Marvel Pearl is smoother but continuous. I've only thrown the Fusion on on the Middle of the Road challenge pattern and on Cheetah so far. On MOR I played 2-2(feet-lane) left of the Marvel Pearl with the Fusion and it made it look like a house shot. Marvel Pearl just didn't have the angle to carry well. On Cheetah I was 4-2 left of the MP, Fusion had a better look early but the Marvel Pearl looked better after the first breakdown of the shot for games 2-3. I have a feeling if I'd bowled a couple more games and after another breakdown I'd have switched back to the Fusion to get more recovery to carry.

IMO, If you're looking for smooth and continuous the Marvel Pearl is better choice but if you're looking for a similar midlane read with more pop on the backend the Fusion is a better choice. Both actually compliment each other well. I may adjust the surface on my Marvel Pearl to make it more of a step down from the Fusion.

It would be interesting to see how a box condition Marvel Pearl would have compared to the IQ.  Greater differential suggest somewhat different shape, but I suspect differences would be less noticeable.  Again, I saw a lot of Fusions looking good on the same shot that my Marvel Pearl worked well on.

2handedrook12, are you looking for a specific reaction? That might help the people weighing in give you a better opinion.

I was just looking at reactions that are clean in the front with decent backend. However, I wanted a stronger core (low RG). In other words, no Hy-Road Pearl, Freak'n Frantic, Wrecker, etc. for this slot.

The Optimus is clean through the fronts and has a little more punch than the Marvel Pearl. Very similar, but for me, definitely stronger to the pocket.
