What to use on usbc patterns
« on: March 21, 2008, 02:49:57 PM »
Hey everyone, I will be bowling on some usbc sport patterns in a few weeks and wondering what would be the best equipment to use out of my arsenal?
I have 8 balls, all storm. My pap is 5 1/2 over 1/2 inch up.
1. x-factor vertigo 4 1/2 pin to pap under ring, 5/8 inch hole 1 inch below center line @ 5 3/16 from center of grip.
2. paradigm passion pro cg. pin directly above ring finger 4 3/4 from pap, rad on the val 3 1/2 inches from pap, no hole.
3. x-factor duece, pin next to ring, rad 4 1/2 from pap, hole in the thumb area.
4. x-factor reloaded, 4 1/2 inch pin 4 1/2 inchers from pap above my ring finger, rad 4 1/2 from my pap, no hole.
5. x-factor reloaded, pro cg. pin 5 inches from pap directly under ring, rad under thumb and x hole just above and to the left of my pap, flares alot actually.
6. erazer blaze, 3 3/8 inch pin, 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 pin 45 degrees above ring, no hole.
7. too hot, 2 1/2 inch pin, label drill.
Any suggestions on what to use and what surface would be helpful.

need to know rev rate and ball speed to give relative appraisal.
Plus need to know condition of ball, & the track and if  you've changed from the stock surface.

Well, my speed I can vary some what, probably around medium speed or so, a touch slower on more oil. Right now, my vertigo is at like 2000 grit, my passion is slightly polished, my duece is at 1000 grit, my reloaded with the pin under is at around 1000 grit, my other reloaded is polished up around 1500 grit, my blaze is polished 1500 grit, and my too hot is polished up.

FOr teams (fresh oil), If the Passion is not too polished, it and the Vertigo might be your best bet, with the Deuce in third position. YOu need a medium strong ball to handle the initial oil. In minors, it all depends on how badly the previous team(s) chewed up the condition and where they chewed it up. Start off minors where you left off in teams and hope for the best.
