From talking to Mr. Steve Jaros, here is the benifits:
1) Some form of contract for use (AKA Salary)(Chris Barnes $1 mil ring a bell?)
2) Free equipment and gear from the manufacture. This includes test balls not certified (Jaros throwing .44 Balls)/ball that are certified but not out (Jaros throwing .44 Balls way before launch)/balls out (dur)/balls made a heck of a long time ago (Duke's Ace).
3) Support from company (ball tech, ect)(Storm drillers on tour)
4) There may be more, but that is what I know.

Benefits obviously include access to equipment, but one of the biggest in my mind is access to Storm's experts like Steve Kloempken and Chris Schlemer. Schlem, especially, is the BEST as an expert and a dude. I am just a peon regional staffer but I've never felt he has treated me with any less consideration than PDW and the other Tour staff studs.

Some people say it can be bad to be a staffer because you only have access to one company's equipment, but I think that can be a benefit in that there is less potential confusion. I have been with Storm since 1996 and wouldn't have a clue of where to start if I was a free agent again.

Ya, that is one benifit- the staff and the access.  You do get less confussion, but you lose open use.  And for Steve, when I talked to him, he likes the choices now-but there is no contract, and no free gear.

It all depends on the contract.  I know a regional staffer, he gets 2 of every new ball that comes out free and he can buy anything else he wants at cost.  Most regional guys don't receive a salary.  The ball reps, or whatever you want to call them, are some of the most knowledgable in the industry about their equipment (in many cases you're getting the guy that designed the ball telling you how to lay it out) and the physical aspect of the game, so you get access to all that knowledge.

Free balls, balls at cost.  Ah the dream.
