34      Jeff Carter       Springfield, Ill.       A       14       3251        +451       232.21

It must be heart breaking to average 232 and not make the cut.

Note Ryan Shafer 300 300.

He either shot 856 or 859

Because that portion of his block went 256 300 300 259.

WOW!

The article says that they think it's the first back-to-back 300s since Duke went back-to-back-to-back in '96.  Stunning.

Scorpion, which, according to the website, is a medium-to-low scoring pattern.  Doesn't look that low, if a 232 average is out of the cut.

1 ) Hawthorne Lanes has an older Brunswick Anvilane surface, with a lot of built in friction. I dont think it would matter which pattern they run here, scores always seem to be a little on the higher side

2) Pin Carry at Hawthorne is severely above average

3) and most importantly, and read this very closely, we are talking about 63 of the most talented bowlers in the world ( with me being 64th !!! ). You give these guys a little free hook and they will light it up.

The transitions werent easy this week, so those of you that insist on calling high scoring tournaments "house china", come on out. Just because scores are high doesnt neccessarily mean that they are easy. You might just gain an apprectiation on how good most of these guys really are

BTW, i truly appreciate the nice comments and words of support i get from these boards. Believe me, during times like these its nice to hear from people that care and for that i thank you all a great deal

Great job this week Jeff, just bowling in regionals is showing me a little bit of how it is to bowl well on a challenging condition, and still come a little short of the cut, let alone on the national tour.  Keep up the great bowling, and it'll come, just a matter of time for you.

Good or bad, Jeff always takes the time to fill us in on his week, or to just give us some intel on the latest and greatest from Storm. I thank and commend Jeff for his kind actions.

Jeff, how about lunch later this week in Wickliffe?

I think the "hot secretary" option is out of the question.  So, by the process of elimination, it's probably you...!!

Good week and great shooting.

Rev, are you bowling the TQR ? Lunch could be a possiblitly depending on my schedule. I know we have a photo shoot for Turbo sometime, but other than thay i might be available

You know i could let my 9 year old daughter write these things for me, but she's much smarter than i am and you guys would see right through that. I could let my son help, but hes too busy throwing things at his sister and watching Thomas / Barney / Elmo......again, much smarter than i am
