The best Storm ever for floods?
« on: March 03, 2004, 09:48:02 PM »
Hey Stormheads,

What would you guys say was the best ball that Storm ever made for flooded conditions? I haven't used many Storm balls, but I've seen enough in action to know that several of them handle heavier oil, but which was the best for the heavy juice from foul line to pin deck? Any input is appreciated.

The response was a early roller. I would guess it to be the best that storm has ever made for the flood. It is the only one that comes to mine at the moment.

I have used the Fear Factor and Response on heavy oil. In
my opinion the Response is a better ball for heavy oil.

You might also consider the X-It.

X-it, by far the best oil ball Storm ever made.

Never thrown the Fear Factor, but I know the the La Nina was probably the heaviest particle load any ball company ever used. You could actuall feel them in the ball... that is, until oil matted it every 3 games. After that you had to clean it or throw it at 10 pins.

X-it was weak.

La nina, you could almost use that ball to sand other ones it was so grippy.  But I haven't seen anything better than an X-it for swimming thru the flood.  It just turned when others wouldnt.  I haven't seen many fear factors thrown, but I haven't been that impressed by their ability to handle oil.

TraumaResponse, Hands down,

This ball would hook on ICE  plus it was a good ball to burn up a line in the oil so you could use another ball later.

El Nino X-It.

If you don't knock them all down with the first ball, that's no reason to leave any after the second ball.

I love my fear Factor for floods.  The Trauma ER is good too.
But i think the Fear Factor is a stronger ball.

no doubt in my mind it was the response and i've owned the fear factor, x-it and el nino as well. you could polish the response and it would start rolling before it got to the midlane then burn up on lane conditions that the x-it could play. my slightly polished fear factor can handle some medium shots whereas my response only had one condition that it shined, heavy oil.

I saw a guy recently in a tournament take out his El Nino X-It and tear the lanes up when others couldn't get a Fear Factor to budge. Seems to be a pretty good oil ball for some I guess and not for others...
