Well let me start by saying i drill on average 20 balls per season for myself so it's not unusual for some balls to just not match up for me from time to time.
The pyro first came to me i drilled it up with a similar layout i had on an xfactor that was very stable and smooth in the transition from oil to dry on a heaily oiled house shot.
The pyro after drilling was 4 1/4 x 2 3/4 with a small balance hole 1 inch below my pap. The ball was uncontrolable and would pretty much make a very sharp hard turn at the sight of any dry or friction downlane. This ball was put into the storage room for later use i figured when i needed something that finished harder than my present line up.
Then the agent showed up and i was drilling that up and recieved pins that were very long( 5 inch plus range), so i ended up drilling it and the ball was very strong in the midlane and hard arching in the backends. i could move farther left than with the pyro, and the reaction was useful but not practical on the shot we were seeing. so it was also put aside for a little bit.
So now i was sitting here with storm's two latest releases that i wasn't really able to use on a daily basis. After about 4 weeks of practicing with both i finally gave in and decieded i would try and plug and redrill one of the two balls.
I like the reaction of the agent too much to plug it so i took out the pyro again and tried shining it again higher. The ball went further but carry went out the window.
So i went to the shop and grabbed the 1 hour wizard plugging and started color matching. After i was done i finished the ball with white pads for about 10 minutes on the haus machine and it looked great. I put a layout i have used in the past 5 1/4 by 4. keeping the balance hole in the same place.
The ball is now really smooth, still has recovery but clean through the midlane and smooth control finally i needed in the backend on the shots i have been struggling on.
last three sets have been 702, 789, and 733. compared to low 600s.
