Just got some info from Storm on these 2 new balls.
Anybody got anymore info or performance tid bits?
Of course they are offering solid and a pearl resin versions of the Reactor coverstock right off the bat.
The core looks to be the style from the original Columbia Messenger...a ball with a bottom flip puck.
I am guessing a replacement for the Jolt line???
ANy help here guys?

Yes, it looks like these two new balls will replace the jolt series.

These are replacements for the Pearl/Solid Jolt

I had a chance to throw them both about 2 weeks ago at a Storm open house and both rolled great and the carry was awesome as well for low-mid priced ball. I am not a Storm fan but I pre-ordered both of these balls.. I was very impressed..
Now I just need to find the time to get over to my pro shop and punch them up!!
I predict these will do very well when they are released..

I got both a week ago thursday and drilled them both up. The solid looks and acts alot like the Cell just a little weaker I believe due to the core. The pearl has alot of backend but is very controlable. I drilled both the same way using the dual angle layout at 45 and 45 degrees. Both seem to take coverstock adjustment well and I believe that with a stronger or weaker drilling would match up very well to almost anybodys game. Hope this helps.

The color of one of the two street rods resembled a cell very much. The coloring and the labeling were almost identical. Smelt really good though.

I have drilled up the Street Rod Pearl and will drill up the Solid in the next week. The pearl is a great ball. You can play close to the friction and it WON'T over react. This ball also have great hitting power. Not trying to bash Brunswick, but these ball are not like the avalanches. From what I have seen from both avalanches they are weak and hit very flat. The street rods roll great and hit even better. I have mine drilled 5.5 inches from PAP and the cg at 45 degrees in case if I needed a hole to make the reaction better. These balls are a must have!!!

I've used my Street Rod solid in 2 different houses and on the evening house shot, and morning house shot, and in the first 5 games with it am averaging over 240 with it. No unpredictable flip, just a strong smooth arc that continues through the pins. Pins stay low, so the carry is pheonomenal. I actually like the Street Rod better than my Cell, or Attitude Shift so far. Looking forward to seeing this ball on some flatter conditions, and other houses, but so far, a fantastic ball for the money.

I had an Avalanche Peal and I didnt have a problem with its hitting power. Any ball will hit flat if not thrown right. I watched my friend throw his Avalanche solid yesterday and the ball was exploding the rack.

If any Storm core is the predecessor to this new Turbine core it would be a tweaked Power Bolt core...

So you've seen a physical example of the core?

I wonder.
At Buddies, a fairly inexpensive place, they're priced $15 higher than the Jolt balls. Doesn't that translate to about $25 - $30 more at the retail level?
Replacements are normally closer in price range than that.

No J-Mac but from the sale sheet they sent me with the picture of the core, the shape is nearly identical to the original Messenger.

Thought I would continue on this thread since my question is about the Street-Rod solid.
Are both the Street-Rods made for a Light to Medium Oil condition? the internet bowling stores list the Street-Rod solid as a Light to Medium Oil ball but I thought I had better come in here and ask first.
I'm looking for a Light to Medium Oil ball to go under my Black Widow Pearl when the lanes start to dry up. Thanks, Jake

The street rod solid is not for light to medium IMO. I used it during demo days and this ball will handle quite a bit of oil. It looks just like the cell as far as color goes..
