Street Rod Pearl Impressions

Ok, so I wanted a ball to move down to from my Gravity Shift, so I drilled this up, with a slightly longer PAP (5x3) than the GS (4 1/2x3). I took this out onto to lane and threw the two, and the Street Rod went about 2 feet longer and snapped back about 5 boards stronger on the backends!!

I mean this thing was sharp!! I left a 9 pin on the first shot playing from 30 to 3!!! I threw the Gravity the same line a couple times and it hit light pocket every time.

But yeah, the ball is way stronger than I wanted, but I can't complain about this reaction!! If I missed outside, it hit dry early, but didn't oversnap. It would hold it's line well as long as I didn't soften up on my speed. If I missed inside, the ball would skid about 55 feet then get some last minute angle.

The only problem with this ball is that it is speed sensitive, but this is still the absolute best ball I have ever bought for the price...I may have to pick up the solid for heavier patterns, since this works great on medium oil.

I on the other hand thought the Pearl wasn't that great of a piece. Unless your squared up to your target it wasn't good at delivering any power at the pin deck. The Solid on the other hand is perhaps the best value ball I've thrown in a while. Save your money get a T-Road Pearl and a Solid Hot Rod.

I had the exact opposite reaction.  The pearl I could play anywhere, all angles.  The solid would only "hit" if I squared up.  

Both are great balls at this price range.

With me, the pearl worked best from deep angles. I tried to square up a few times, and it either caught friction early or not at all. Had a lot of 10 pins to cover when I straightened up.

I may be drilling the solid soon, and I expect that I will be squaring up a little. I can't imagine the solid having anywhere near the backend as the pearl, so I will be drilling it for a smoother roll so I can play about 5 boards right with my feet. Hope it carries the same!!!

OK, took this ball out one for time in a two game rolloff last night...and the result was the same. Tere was a little more oil than the first time I tried it so I thought it would be a little tamer...WRONG!!!

This ball still had the same length and snap (with forgiveness) that I loved the first time I threw it. It is still very easy to control. I tell on release where it was going to go. It is still sensitive to speed. If I throw it harder, I'm leaving a 10 pin. But this still is an amazing ball!!
