IQ Tour Surface Change
« on: September 14, 2017, 11:02:42 AM »
Hello Bowling Family,
I was thinking about changing the surface of my IQ Tour. Right now it is at oob, which I believe is at 4K grit. I made this my bench mark ball. The other balls in my bag are Timeless, Scandal and Black Widow Gold. I want more teeth.I am a two hander. Should I drop it to 2k grit ? with or with out polish?
Thank you ahead of time.
My Weapons for WAR: 15LBS. Hammer Black Widow Gold, Storm IQ Tour, Storm Timeless, Storm Drive, Hammer Black Urethane, Hammer Gauntlet.  Gold Widow Spare

I've had mine at just about every surface, when necessary, & It's always rolled great.  Give it a shot at 2k, you can always change it back if you don't like it.

Dropped mine down to 3000 as well because its my first out of the bag for the fresh for league.  Depending on your style and how much oil you are dealing with I would be careful going too low of grit (say under 1000) because its a forgiving ball but its carry with lots of friction can be suspect.

The ball takes surface changes VERY well.  I've have mine at both 2K and 4K (box).  The 2K will allow it to handle a bit more oil.  Try it and see what you think ... you can always put it back to 4K !!

I like 2000 on mine, however, it takes lane shine fairly quickly and I am not an over-zealous surface adjuster.  I adjust once a month on average.
