Switching over to Storm (from Hammer)

So I've come to the realization that I'm not a power player, I'm a pretty slow speed, med to low rev kind of guy, and this BlackWidow is just not right for me. I want to pick up a couple new strike balls before I start a new PBA experience league. (i love my Blue Dot too much to ever replace it with another spare ball though)

What 2 balls would you go with? I was leaning towards the Gravity Shift only because I like the lines Norm Duke usually plays, but I think I'm open to anything. I posted a WTT ad in the Storm for sale section, but maybe I need some advice first. Thanks!!!

If you like how Norm plays, go with the Spitfire for medium oil.

If u can find one, get a paradigm passion, its my favorite ball and longest lasting ball has over 700 games on it and still hooks like when i first got it.

Im so glad people are brainwashed to thinking that if they buy a new ball they will carry everything. And its even funnier when im carrying with my 15 year old ball and they're going flat ten.

T-Road Solid and T-Road Pearl.  Those two balls will cover about 80% of the conditions you are going to run into.  Best 1-2 punch on the market.

So why is the Black Widow not right for you?  What kind of ball reaction does it give you compared to the kind of reaction you're looking for?

i have found that the rapid fire being a combination of the fired up core and agent cover is an amazing ball on the house shot. works with people of varying speeds also. also have the gravity shift but am unhappy with its performance , the rapid fire is a much nicer ball for fifty dollars less

To answer DanBelchers question, the BWS just seems to be a little too aggressive for me. I feel like I only get into the pocket if I play from the left, and I'm just not comfortable doing that. I'm sure I could have it drilled weaker, but I also would like to try out some Storm equipment.

Just to clarify Will, did you intend to say the Secret Agent, or Special Agent?  I do this all the time, confusing the names.  I personally thought the Special was a better all around ball.

I so, so, so agree.  My passion has probably near 400 games on it, and as long as I keep up with cleaning it, the thing is a monster.  I've never seen a ball get into such a heavy roll before moving, ever.  The closest ball I've seen to this is the Cell and Gravity Shift.

Sounds like you don't see quite enough oil to use stronger equipment, especially with your slower speed.  (You might want to work on getting your ball speed up some -- a free armswing will do that, and will improve your consistency and accuracy.  There's tons of threads about that in the Miscellaneous forum)

The Thunderstruck solid and Thunderstruck Pearl would give you a good one-two combo.  Also, the new Street Rod line looks like something else that might get you down the lane and give you a controlled move on the backend.

You mentioned the Gravity Shift -- that's a very strong ball, even if it is a pearl reactive.  You'll probably be hooking that ball more than you'd like thanks to the strong core and strong cover.
