Thoughts on El Nino Returns
« on: November 01, 2007, 06:36:23 AM »
This ball has been available for a while now (I think it came out around March?) but I haven't seen much info on it.  I get that it was a Cheapbowlingballs.com distribution exclusive, but when the Dark Thunder came out as a CalBowl distribution exclusive they were everywhere and it was not hard to get a review.

Anyone throw this ball yet?  If so, can we get some either a review or at least some basic impressions?  This ball just got PBA approved this month (I am assuming a staffer or two wanted to use it) so I am considering it for my medium oil volume pearl reactive.  The original El Nino was a good ball - but I am assuming the the cover needed to be updated in order to deal with new lane oils.

Wow, it was just approved? I have been using it in leagues for sometime, and mine is stamped? Oh, PBA approved, nvm.

Ball rolls good, pretty long and flippy, good ball to have in the bag.. I have shot my highest series with it (757).

Good ball, I would definatly buy one if you can find one.. The coverstock is a recent coverstock, not a pearl version of the old el-nino.

Excellent - someone who has rolled the darn thing.

One quick question - can you compare this ball to any other ball (Storm or otherwise) so that I can get a sense of where it would fit?  I am assuming similar to the original Pardigm.

It is fairly close to an original paradigm.. It skates probably the first 30 ft of the lane, barely reads the mids, but has a huge reaction on the back. I really like the ball.. The paradigm will be more angular off of the spot, as the Returns will be more arced on the back. Two great pieces.
