THUNDER ROADS need opinions
« on: January 12, 2004, 09:29:52 AM »
I asking for anyone who is interested in this topic to reply with there thoughts about this ball. If you have owned one I would like to hear your opinions about this 2 balls. The purple and blue thunder roads. I think without a doubt that it is the best ball storm has ever made. Any thunder road owners agree.  I am also looking for these NIB or used 1 drill rh hand only. must be 16lbs.

Blue Thunder Road?  Do you mean the Blue Thunder...that was a great ball!!!

I had one of the original Solid Thunder Roads and liked the reaction I got out of it, but not the hit.  I don't think I ever really matched up with the ball / drilling correctly so I hate to say that I didn't like it.  I always wanted to try the pearl version though!

i've got a blue thunder road that i picked up off a used ball rack at the house i bowl in.  Lucky for me the drill fit my hand perfectly.  Let me just say that this ball is my go to ball and i would give anything for a few more of these babies!!!  Mine is a pin-in ball and has the weight hole on the axis point.  Plain and simple this ball is awesome!!!

Thanks guys still want more responses. Mongo I am also one of those guys who would kill to have NIB. I only have 1 right now and it is always the first one out of my bag. It Has had tons of games on it still works great and dosn't soak in very much oil either. I keep it pretty clean.

I still don't get it..."Blue Thunder Road"???  There was no such ball made!!  The Thunder Road was Purple and so was the pearl.  There was a Blue Thunder Storm made...bit it's a different name.

The only ball that might be a blue colored Thunder Road is the overseas "Thunder Road Cool"...but the picture on BBR isn't that best so it's tough to tell.

The thunder road pearl is purple.  The thunder road (reactive resin) is BLUE with marble swirls.  When I said Blue Thunder Road I was trying to distinguish between the pearl and the reactive resin.  The one I own has PBA etched into it.  I don't know if that is standard or not.

Sorry...the Thunder Road Solid is PURPLE.

Whatever...I can understand you wanting distinguish a difference between the pearl and solid, but you're still wrong:

well maybe there were variances in the color over the coarse of its production life.  The Thunder Road that I had (first one to hit the shop back when it came out) was definately purple.  There is a guy in one of my leagues that still uses one and his is purple.

Who knows??

well goof all i can say is that from my thunder road and the thunder roads i have seen on the lanes they are much more blue than they are purple.  what gets me is that the picture in the link you provided shows the ball to be blue even though they say it's purple. I think bowling ball reviews got it wrong.  They say that the pearl is purple and blue even though the pic is completely purple.  I think they've got it bassackwards.

Well regardless of color the TR-Pearl was a great ball!  The core design also set the way for the Eraser...which I though was much better than the Solid one, but still wasn't the Pearl.

i would love to get my hands on one of the TR pearls for my thurday league.  I can only use my TR for about 4 frames then i have to start moving.  I think the pearl will give me the length and i would be able to use it longer during the night.

what i was trying to imply was that if i use my TR i could only get about 4 frames out of it until i had to start moving deeper.  In the interest of time an my fingers i will not go into how bad this house is with taking care of and oiling their lanes.  I've been bowling long enough to realize when i don't have the right piece of equipment in my hand.
