Agent or Paradigm
« on: June 08, 2006, 04:59:25 AM »
I would like to fill a gap in my arsenal between
my Strike Zone and my Classic Zone with a Storm ball.
Which one should be the best choice to be at mid-way,
all balls oob finish and leverage drilling.
All inputs are welcome, thanks you?

well the agent would be more controllable, its still can be wild, very strong but the paradigm is rediculously strong and they match up on the same conditions and to me its up to you in this situation, do you want a really big hooking ball (paradigm) or pretty big hooking ball (agent) and why those two, i'm very satisfied with the agent and would probably reccomend it first

I just recently drilled up an agent and it is a great rolling ball.  I punched it up 3, 3/8 by 3, 3/8 and left to box finish on it.  It gets through the lane very well with a nice smooth backend.  As far as your question is concerned it would be difficult to classify either the paradigm or agent in between your strike zone or classic.  The agent and both zones have basically the same weight block with different covers.  And the paradigm is going to be stronger than all of them.  My recommendation would be to purchase a paradigm or even a paradigm passion and use your strike zone as a medium ball and classic zone for when they start to dry out some.  I have thrown all three (agent, passion, and paradigm) and all of them roll very well.

Good Luck and Good Bowling,
Michael

Ditto to what magicmike11 said.

As far as I can tell these balls have virtually the same overall hook.  So it comes down to what kind of ball movement do you want - a little length with ridicously strong turn (Paradigm) or earlier turn with a realtively smooth arc (Agent).

Either will fit a medium to stronger slot - but if I were you I'd go with the Agent.  It probably is closer to the Zone reaction (Activator and Reactor were designed with similar goals) and both are Asymetrical cores.  I've thrown both the Agent and Vapor Zone and they are VERRRY close.  So I really have only one question - why wouldn't you just get a Vapor Zone?

I'd like a non-Brunswick cover in my arsenal.
So, the Agent seems to be what I want.
Thanks

Just an idea... you might also consider the Pyro and the upcoming double agent. Those have particle in their coverstock (Pyro polishe, DA is supposed to be 1.000 grit Abralon) and should IMHO fill the "control" niche between the ZC and SZ. I think the DA would be a very good choice, from what I can tell from personal Storm experience.

I kept these two in my mind, Dizzy, especially the DA.
However I'm afraid of an overlapping with the SZ.
Do you know the date of release here in Europe?

No. Definitively later than the US. Here in Germany, for exmaple, we are still waiting for the first Awesome Flips from MoRich - we have a good contact to the import company, but the delivery is delayed from schedule for about 8 weeks. Hopefully, we get the first ball in July... although Storm seems to be quicker. I already saw Agents at my pro shop, just 3 or 4 weeks after the US release.

We have a pretty strong bowler who sells and "demos" all the storm products.

Even though he has some that really still work for him...he demos every new high end ball.  Our condition is synthetic brunswick anvilanes and a long pattern.

He's pretty fast and always needs very strong cores because of speed.

He had a Paradigm and it didn't do much of him...seemed ot get bogged down on our carrydown(at a time when he was averaging about 230 with his Vertigo...he demod this thing to about 205).

He then changed to the Agent at a time when scores were going up at end of league year(trying to get guys back)...He averaged about 240 for about 5 weeks and had his first 800!

I did not see or compare the drillings(I believe he had gone to a stronger type of drilling as he got the agent).

So I don't know really what all this means except I've seen the Paradigm look a lot better than he made it look!  But of the two he demod he liked the agent better!  About 30 pins!  Also I'm a fan of reactor.

REgards,

Luckylefty
PS given all that I saw a Paradigm Passion last night look sweet!
