Medium Oil ball
« on: November 04, 2006, 10:51:27 PM »
I am looking for a Medium oil ball...and my choices are Fired up or Doom...both seem similar...but I've heard the Fired up being called "Squirty"...there are a lot more reviews on the Doom, which makes me lean more towards the Doom but I can get the Fired up at a better price...Any opinions would help...thanks Joe

hmmm. i haven't used either of the balls but according to most people that use the fired up, the fired up is a ball with a SICK backend. it skids and flips real hard. possibly harder than anything at its price range. but that's just my opinion.. hope my help is effective

Ive got the feeling that the fierd up can be a little over/under if there is to much oil, and or carrydown.

Yep indeed the firedup can be over under, squirty, and it can quit in carrydown. BUt then again, pretty much almost all pearl balls do that. A good thing about this ball is it creates tremendous backend. you can get really deep with this ball and let the it unload on the backend to carry. Great Pearl ball.

If you can get the fired up cheaper with a change to say 1000 albaron on the cover then go for it, I had to do that just to make mine predictable.  Personally I wouldn't go for either option. I would go Doom over fired up if those were my choices though.  Personally I would go Vapor Zone, Rampage, ZR40, Vendetta 357 or 44Mag, Spitfire, appogee, black widow with some polish or a solid vibe, you get the idea.

I really like my fired up, and have had no real over under issues. There are better balls for that ,such as the pyro, which may be better choice.
