Eraser Blaze?
« on: October 23, 2006, 03:49:40 AM »
Hey everyone,

I have one of these coming to me from Vendettaman (great seller), but I have few questions about it. I saw it thrown when it was new, and the ball seemed like a solid medium ball with very strong backend motion. Now that the ball is a bit older, how do you all think it matches up to today's conditions? Being that I don't have any other particle pearl, I was kicking around the notion of drilling this one to be my go-to ball for drying heads with carrydown. Do any of you have thoughts on that? If you think it's a good idea, what drilling would you suggest for a medium to high speed player with slightly above average revs? I will have my chance to play with it soon enough, but I just wanted to hear insights from you guys as to how best to use this ball in my arsenal. Any help you can offer will be appreciated.

It would make a very nice ball for the drying heads with light carry down.  It was never a strong piece to start with.  You are better served using it on med-light shots and preferably not long oil if you have carry down.  Nice pick up though good luck!

Gene,

Even a new-in-box Eraser Blaze would be a medium-light oil ball on today's conditions.  From my perpsective you picked up a great piece.  The only recent ball that comes close is the Ragin Banshee - but the Blaze should get you through the heads cleaner than a Ragin with a bit less on the backend.

As far as a control drill is concerned you can't go wrong with a 5 X 4 drill with pin over bridge.  Even if you have some hand in the ball the Blaze combined with a relatively high pin placement should do the trick.

Let us all know how you make out.
