need help!
« on: November 23, 2006, 10:55:01 AM »
hi, do you know of a storm ball which can handle carrydown? my shined up scorchin(real lousy ball) couldn't even hook 5 boards yesterday, and i ended up playing diagonal(board 3 on the dots). still, i had a lot of light pocket splits. i'm a stroker with medium side roll, medium revs and medium ball speed. the house i was playing in yesterday has medium-heavy oil.

thanks.

My PYRO does not seem to be bothered by carry down. It seems to get stronger as the night wears on and the oil moves down.

BOWLING IS FUN NO MATTER WHAT YOU SCORE. BUT A 300 IS ALWAYS NICE.

STRIKE ZONE & PYRO. STAND 22 AND THROW 10 OUT TO 5 AND CRUSH THE POCKET. AT LEAST THAT IS THE PLAN OF THE NIGHT...

GOOD LUCK AND GOOD BOWLING!!!

Before looking for a new ball try taking off the polish and try dulling the ball to 2000 or 1000 grit.  Duller balls do better in carry down because they grip sooner and don't just skid, which is probably what your scorchin was doing.  Also, the scorching is meant for heavy oil in its original condition, not really the best ball in the world to polish.

if all else fails, just throw it.
