So I punched myself up a new toy, the 2Fast. My goal was to replace my T-Road Pearl, with something that wasn't so jumpy at the back of the pattern. I figured with a ball that's got the same cover, but a core with less differential, I could achieve that.
Me: ~325 RPMs, righty, usually around 16MPH at the pin deck, a lot of tilt, my axis is 4 3/6 right, and 3/8 up.
The ball: 4.5 inch pin to PAP, with a 1.5 inch buffer to the VAL. 4 inch CG to the PAP. Drilled shallow fingers. The pin is ilke 1.5 inches above my ring finger, with the CG almost dead center in my palm.
The goal was to create length, strong and continuous backend without it dying out at the pocket. Also, to give me an option to stay right (my comfort zone) when my other gear was a bit much.
My only experience throwing it was at a house I never bowled at. The company had an outing at a bowling alley, and I used it as a time to throw the 2Fast. The first game the lanes were playable with the 2Fast from like 15 to 7. It was reading early, but held pocket and had great continuation. Then the second game, the lanes got toasty and the ball hooked. A lot.
I didn't have anything else with me to compare it with, but for what it's worth I got a good observation of the ball's motion. What I found really interesting with this ball was easy it was to define the skid/hook/roll phases. The ball didn't flare at all the first 30 feet, then you saw it read the lane and turn over very slowly, then once it was moving left it just kept going left. I had a few strikes where I hit the 8 pin dead on.
Once I get a few games in on a THS that's fresher, I'll be sure to let you know how it does then. Also, how it compares to my other gear, b/c that's important to, haha.
BTW: it smells AWESOME
