Thanks for these.

So, is there any difference between the Marvel Pearl and the Prodigy, apart from their respective names? Isn't it the same ball? What am I missing?

The difference is the out of box finish (4000 on the prodigy and 1500 polished on the marvel pearl) and more importantly the prodigy has the ETM enhanced traction mica in it where the marvel pearl is exactly what the name says, a pearlized version of the marvel.  The ETM which was also in the second dimension really helps the ball read the midlane more and calms down the backend while the straight pearl in the marvel pearl will have a tendency to be a little more "skid flippy".

I wonder, then, if it would be safe to describe the Prodigy as a particle pearl. I don't think the manufacturers like using the term "particle" any more, but the enhanced mica additive sounds like particle to me.

 

In any case, I'm that they're all good pieces.
