Traveline Overnighter
« on: February 27, 2005, 12:47:45 AM »
Has anyone bought the overnighter and taken it on a plane? I'm thinking of buying one b4 Nationals and have a few questions:

1. Do the balls stay secure when the baggage monkeys get their chance to toss it around at the airport?
2. Can it really hold at least one set of clothes with balls in there too?
3. Does it look completely stupid trailing a suitcase at the tourney?
4. Is it a viable product?

Thanks

Yes, I have.

The balls are secured in a padded 2-cup style holder, which are Velcro-ed to the sides of the bag.  Once the balls are inside, there are 2 straps that go over each ball to hold them in place.  Even with the nice baggage gorillas at LaGuardia, my equipment didn't move around inside the case.

The lid of the bag has 2 zippers, and the very top section has enough room to store at least one set (2 if it's summer) set of clothes.  There's a detachable hanger to put shirts on (I still needed to do some touch-up ironing, but that might be a chick thing)

To answer a question with a question, what looks stupider:  A rolling suitcase or League Joe Bowler showing up with a 6 ball bag plus a 2-ball tote on each shoulder?

I give it a hearty thumbs-up. Not only is it a nice 2-ball bag, but once you un-Velcro the ball cups, it's a heck of a nice suitcase for a week's vacation.

Hope this helps

Cool, thanks. I'll assume from the "chick thing" that u r of the female persuasion. Therefore, if you can fit 1-2 sets of clothes, that means I could pack about a week's worth

I should be all set. Thanks for the feedback.

It's funny you mentioned that.  Mr. White Dot is a big golf fanatic, and the Traveline *does* fit a week's worth of clothes and such for when he does his annual golf week with his buddies in Arizona

Oh oh! I hope you're wrong, and obvious apologies if I'm wrong... However, I get the "need to iron" so much now from my wife it's become a battle of the sexes when travelling. I've been married too long.....
