xxxtreme review
« on: July 01, 2004, 08:06:42 PM »
Its here i finally have one. well i have mine set up with the pin above the fingers and the rad 1 inch to the right of the thumb hole. Drilled to go long with backend. Well i got it monday and the first night i wasnt sure about it. I found out it was just me i wasnt sure about. Im used to swinging a ball out to about 11 and letting it comeback but not with this ball. I roll it straight up 13 and when it hits the pins get crushed. Im a 175-180 avg bowler and last night i shot a 180,192,246. Thats on a semi sport shot! So far just like i knew storm has not dissapointed me.Next month im getting another one drilled with the pin to the right under my ring finger with the red moved out to the right more. I love this ball.

I take it your a lower rev bowler? I also threw one of these beasts the other day. I had to stand on 40 and swing it out to 4-5.

Im a med. rev bowler but i have it set up to go straight and let it come roaring in the back. The next one will be set up to do exactly what you said. You know sort of the best of both setups.

Or a preson who does nothing but bowl.(me) Ican adjust with this ball but cant get it to swing the way its set up. so to simplify things ill just have to set the next one up a little diff.

I bowled last night on a pretty heavy condition with an out of bounds about 9.This let me get thru a whole series.

I adjust just fine but on real long heavy patterns i cant use this new ball. I need a little dry in the back to get it moving. I also know that the re-loaded and the xxxtreme are two diff. balls. I like the pin action i get with this ball and want to be able to have another set up for much more oil.

NEWSFLASH!!!

It appears as if mid-range balls from Storm are actually matching - and even outperforming - the high end Master line equipment!!!  For all of you who didnt know already, save yourself the money and maintenence of a master line ball, and buy the same performance for a little more than half the price!!!

Now, how many OTHER companies can say that?

hey rc,

it doesnt take a whole lot to realize how senseless it is to go with the high end equipment...im not saying its not a high performing product, but you can get the same results for much less of a price...take a look at my arsenal and you can see that it is possible to get by without a true hook monster in your bag.  for every x factor, theres a super charge...for every deuce, theres a power charge pearl...ive seen these balls react exactly the same compared to their high end equivalents, and they have exactly the same results.  save your money and go practice more with the stuff youve got.  the ball doesnt do ALL the work for ya.

bob7...

i typed it in about 30 seconds, so i did get a little confused with what i was saying.  my point is pretty clear in that you can get the same results with the lower priced equivalents of the master line from storm.  i dont suggest doing that with ANY other companies, but in this case it seems to be the general opinion that there is absolutely no difference between high end and mid range equipment from storm.  noone NEEDS a ball that will hook off the lane.  those are always the ones complaining about inconsistency, while the best bowlers always seem to play a more controlled line to the pocket.  when i saw these new balls being inroduced, specifically the xxxtreme and the flash flood(later this sumer i think), immediately i thought of people wasting their money.

I will be the first to agree with everyone but im a fan of the masterline i really dont get the same reaction and ive had a power  charge super charge and might be getting a depth as well. First of i would recommend i razor wire to save money but its still wont out do my exxxtreme i have had it for a week and have been avg.199 with it.thats 19 pins more than normal i like the x series and will continue to buy them. But the power line is also great.
