To Storm Experts!
« on: November 06, 2007, 05:02:07 AM »
Would these 2 balls be a good 1-2 ball arsenal for house shot? I have been looking at this ball, so I am finally going to get both.

1. Storm Dark thunder
2. Storm Dark Thunder Pearl

I already have a spare ball.

After bowling for some years now. I am tired of caring 4 or more balls for house shot. I believe this is all I need.

I've only seen the Dark Thunder, and the guy throwing it used it for spares, so I'm not really sure how well it would match up. From what I've seen, a T-Road Solid/Pearl combo would work well.

I was looking at also the T-road solid and pearl combo. Reasonable price too.

I would lean to the Troad line over Dark Thunder personally.  I think they would be more versatile.  Plus Storm & you tube have clips on the Troad line you can watch.  Haven't seen any of the Dark Thunder clips.  Plus isn't Dark Thunders a re-release?  Pretty sure it is.

Personally I would go with a T-Road Pearl / Original Agent combo....

....mine compliment each other VERY well.

I don't own the Dark Thunder pearl, however I do own the Dark Thunder and it is my favorite ball. I keep the coverstock at 600 grit and can use this ball on most medium to heavy conditions. I bought a Special Agent for Nationals earlier this year because I had read how that ball was really tearing it up on the slicker Reno condition. But, for me the Dark Thunder and my Shift both outperformed the Special. I would highly recommend the Thunder, for the price it can't be beat. However, for a pearl counterpart I would go wth the t-road pearl or Agent. I would like to also say that what works for me may not work for you, as I mentioned above, most people love the Special Agent including my wife and two of my teammates. So, it would probably be best to ask a trusted pro shop person who either knows your game or at least can watch you throw some.

Thank you everyone. I will be going with the T- road combo. I talked it over with my driller. But I am going to get the Dark Thunder too. Our Anchor man have that ball and it's a beast. I guess once a ball junkie always one.

Yeah that's another ball I wish I had. The Columbia beast is a good ball.
