Tropical Breeze Hybrid! 729 Really?
« on: March 15, 2013, 06:49:54 PM »
I decided to give this ball a try with all the houseshots with less volume. I did a basic pin over ring with the cg below ring. I had the front 8 for 267 and 729 series! I can't believe the reaction from an entry level ball! Nice addition for lighter oil shots!

Nice set.  Storm entry level balls are no joke.  I bought the discontinued Indigo Heat Solid and shot 299/790 with it and three 1000+ series in a 4 game league set.  I was extremely surprised by how strong it was.  Storm truly puts out great equipment from top to bottom!

I also have this ball as well, pin up above ring with cg kicked out a bit. I throw 2 handed and this ball is sick off the spot. Only problem i run into with this ball is i solid 9 quite a bit with it. Its my current benchmark ball on a THS

Wow Storm22, great shooting with yours as well!! It's so easy to roll downlane without worry about early hook! I haven't been able to just play up 10 all night in a long time!!

Ah, Tropical Heat Indigo!  I've had some nice games with mine too, but not in that league.

Lately it has dulled up, and is just getting stronger!  I think I'm going to weaken from 1500 polished to 2000 polished.  My ball is so close to being awesome but often forces me just a touch too deep to carry.  It is strong but never seems to over under with it's solid.  Strong inexpensive Reactor coverstock!

For Batbowler.  Straight up 10?  eh?  Is the ball jumpy on fresh?  That's the Tropical Breeze Black/Cherry no?

PS I like my Tropical Heat Indigo enough I just also purchased the Tropical Heat Black/Purple hybrid(sort of a Hybrid solid).  I was thinking that would allow me to move weaker to the left also.

Bruce & storm22,

Great bowling with a surprising ball.
Remember it isn't too long ago that the Reactor cover was Storm's premier coverstock. Even today, it cannot be considered weak.

I have and use the Tropical Breeze Solid, now discontinued. I started it at 3000 grit + polish. It had an extreme backend on my medium-light oil house shot; I took it down to 3000 grit and it has a little less length much more control, with little loss of hitting power.
