Gravity Shift

Why is the Gravity Shift so rare and so difficult to get a hold of? I've had much less trouble searching for bowling balls released years before it. I just don't understand why this one ball is almost unheard of, especially considering how good everyone claims it is.
Any speculation is appreciated. (Though facts are more appreciated)

I think part of it is that the Gravity Shift was introduced in Feb 2008 and discontinued around 2009 or so.  Now, I never did throw it but from what I understand, it had the same core that the Virtual Gravity/Virtual Energy/VG Nano use but in a full pearl cover. 
 

Best bet may be eBay or try to find a pro shop that might have access to it.  Also, some of the larger shops (Buddies, National Bowling Store, bowling.com and other places like that) do sell reconditioned balls.  That might be the best bet in getting one.

I've seen a couple on eBay within the last month that have gone for $90-100 with shipping.

I have seen the same, even NIB, a slightly used one would be good.

They can be had with a little bit looking.

Darn, I wish I had known that a few days ago, I just bought a used one off ebay. Is it 15 pounds? If I end up liking the ball I might still want a NIB one waiting.

I have a used one, drilled righty, pin-down. This ball is great for those that don't have a lot of hand. For me this ball is extremely skid-flip! I don't use mine much.

You see them on Ebay from time to time. I sold my 2nd one on there 2 months ago and was shocked that it sold for almost $70 used. Granted the cover was in great shape.
 
The Gravity Shift is my favorite ball to date! I feel like I might be regretting the fact I sold my backup. One of the other comments is spot on. It is great for folks that lack a good amount of hand in the ball. Mine revs up like no other equipment I own.
