TROPICAL HEAT REVIEW (lengthy write-up)
« on: April 18, 2010, 04:46:18 AM »
Hey guys just wanted to give you a heads up to what you may see on the lanes with these 2 great additions to the Storm lineup.
MY SPECS:
Ball Speed - Medium - high (18mph)
Rev rate - medium - high (around 350-400 rpms)
PAP:  5  1/4  x  1  3/8 up

REVIEW:
I drilled up the Black/Silver Reactor Hybrid Tropical Heat, Orange/Purple Reactor Pearl cover. I drilled both balls with a 4  1/2" Pin to PAP cg kicked out right approx 1" both with X-holes.
First thing Im going to say is both of these balls are well worth the money. For a lower end performance ball these balls are absolutly amazing!!
The Black and/ Silver Hybrid I found hooks about 3-5 boards more then the Pearl Reactor. But is a tad earlier and smoother on the backend. I rolled these balls on our fresh house shot SYNTHETICS 39 ft and a 2nd shift shot and believe it or not with the Hybrid coverstock I didnt move all night I played them the same standing 24 -15 out to about 8 at the break point
I also rolled this ball at another local house which is wood and 43 ft pattern. With this center the carry gets very tricky in game 3 as the heads dry up and the backends get tighter. I brought this ball with me just to test it on the wood. I started out shooting 258-299 then game 3 started with 3 ten pins, a 2-10 switched to the HYRBID TROPICAL HEAT and struck out!!
Comparisons: I compared the Hybrid cover with its big brother the HYROAD. The Hyroad read the midlane almost identical with the difference being the HYROAD was almost an arrow stronger. So you have an excellant compliment to the HYROAD with this TROPICAL HEAT!!
Thanks for taking the time and reading this!! Good Luck with the ball and if you have any questions I will be glad to answer them.

All you are getting is a street Rod remake.

I agree... Two different-shelled hybrid balls with two different dynamic cores would make a great one-two punch!

Yeah, and if they would make the Reign of Terror, you could have three of them.
