Prodigy
« on: July 14, 2010, 07:19:27 AM »
How would a Prodigy drilled 4.5" pin to PAP, pin down react at 2000 abralon? I am receiving a used one. I have a Second Dimension drilled 4" pin to PAP, pin down at 4000 abralon. I do not want to change the surface on the 2D, because it reacts great in my weekly tournament. I was thinking the Prodigy would be great for heavier oil on the PBA patterns (joining PBAX in September) and for whenever there is a lot of oil at a tournament. I want to save my Invasion at 2000 abralon for true heavy and long oil. Thoughts?

For starters, why do you want all 3 to have a pin down drilling? Why not go with a pin up @ 4 1/2 for the prodigy? You already have a couple of balls to start their role sooner along with some surface. If you did the pin up with the prodigy you would have a ball that would be great for playing deeper on a longer pattern once it has broken down. Do you have any other balls with pin up to play deeper that will turn the corner once there is a hook spot?

To answer your question about the prodigy with the pin @ 4 1/2 with 2000 surface, it probably would role similar to your 2d but be a touch longer and just a little more on the back end. But, that will depend on just exactly how you land up drilling the prodigy.
