Lots of posts about new stuff, but I'm telling you guys...

If you want to see a Storm ball get really angular (even by Storm standards) and can still find Dark Thunder Pearls out there, I'd highly suggest you try one out.

I have the original DT and wanted the pearl to go with it and finally found one NIB. I drilled it pin-under-ring and stacked the CG, which tends to promote an arc for me (measurables end up about 3.5x3.5).

This thing gets so angular it makes me laugh, literally. And I don't bowl on a shot that lends itself to angular play, because our house actually oils outside 5 a little.

I took this thing to league Tuesday, along with a Rico-drilled Thunderstruck Pearl, and eventually had to put it up and go to the Thunderstruck because it was going too deep and hooking too much off the spot. I usually don't have trouble making a ball hook anyway but this ball was still trying to help me out. Can't believe how fast she revs up and how far down the lane she would get before going nuts.

Anyone remember what the original Thunder used to look like when it first came out? There's a YouTube somewhere of Pete Weber throwing one and I swear it looks like it's going 55 feet before hooking from the 3-board into the pocket. Well, this ball looks like it's doing the same thing (not really, but you get my point).

It's the Thunder Road core with Monsoon Pearl from the XXX Factor, and don't let anyone tell you it's a dry-lane ball.

Just my personal opinion, but I think Storm made a mistake by not releasing the Dark Thunders nationwide after Cal Bowling proved there was interest. At least Storm did release the Thunderstrucks but the DT balls are two of the best hidden gems in bowling.

Under contract only Cal bowling can release this ball, know someone that works there and the scoop on both balls. I have the pearl it is a pretty good ball and yes not a dry lane ball by any means.

Oh-puh-leeze!
T-ROad pearl, Thunderstruck Pearl, Street Rod Pearl, Rapid Fire pearl, Domination, Gravity Pearl, Shift, Agent, how many freaking variations of the same freaking theme are there?

what the frake is a Dark Thunder pearl? Variation # 4275???????

The same thing over and over and over again.

Get your story straight, for gosh's sakes!

After all is said and done, they vary by .075 feet in length and a .0538 boards in backend hook potential. You can't tell the players without a score card. Even then it's freaking impossible. Storm is quickly becoming the new Columbia, and you know what happened to them!

Nuff said! And please don't try to contradict me. YOu know if see the bottom line better than anyone. If Storm doesn't stop the BS, the end is near. Lanemasters or Visionary will buy them out.

Hey charles,

In the future, if you don't like my posts, please hit the BACK button on your browser and then find another thread.

I'm not looking to scrap with anyone here but I'll be dam*ed if I'm going to post something that I feel is relevant and helpful and then have another person tear into me like I did something wrong, and just take it. I'm a real nice guy but I don't suffer junk like this. Please save the attitude for the board spammers and keyboard jockeys. I'm neither.

I found this one on eBay. Just happened to run across it one night while I was looking for something else. I kept the seller's ID for awhile and would check his/her auctions from time to time to see if they ever had anything else of similar type, but they never did. I've since lost the ID.

Bowler's Dream is still showing both the solid and the pearl in stock (www.bowlersdream.com). I've ordered from them before and always have gotten great service. They're asking $124.95 for each.

I think Charlest comments are to me Jess not you about only cal bowling being able to release this exact ball. Sorry i know my facts as i know a person there, yes other balls close have been made by exactly monsoon and the thunder core are a cal bowling item only.
