It definitely appears that this ball is a very good benchmark ball especially with this layout, which is the pin is slightly outside and below the ring finger and the CG kicked in towards the palm. "Psuedo MB" is just under the thumb. I definitely see why Norm Duke seems to gravitate towards this ball, especially when he's playing straighter because with the OOB surface, this ball picks up in the midlane and is very smooth and controllable at the breakpoint. You can move in and go around the side of it to make it tip however. I've thrown this ball on the 41 ft beaten path playing inside with success. I've used it successfully playing straighter on the Scorpion pattern and I've used it successfully on a couple of the house shots around town. It looks like a great ball to take the temperature of the lanes with and I think it could be used on just about anything except the extremes.
I also tried it at a couple of different surfaces, I tried it at 2000, no polish and it had a hard time storing energy. But it would definitely work if there was more oil on the lane. I also tried it at 2000 polish, but this made it very jumpy off the dry and vulnerable to over/under. So OOB seems to work best with this layout. I think I have my benchmark ball of the future. I need to throw it at some more centers around town and some of the other PBA shots before I post a review on it.
