Has anyone compared the Double and Secret Agent

I have a Double Agent that is the earliest rolling ball I've ever owned.  I am considering a Secret Agent and I am wondering if they are too much of an overlap.

I looked at your storm arsenal and this is just me. You have a lot of great Storm equipment. I really don't see that the secret agent would help you that much with your Storm lineup that you have. I bowl in several leagues and see a lot of Storm equipment along with everything else. Many bowlers love the Secret and I am not putting it down. I do have the Special Agent for medium/heavy oil and I like the Domination on lighter oil. Some bowlers did not fall in love with the Domination. In my opinion the Secret Agent just seems to be somewhat weaker overall than the equipment you have. It could just be the coverstock.

Green,

You have a very nice mix of coverstocks and options. I would think the Secret would be very close to the Double. There are some small differences like the Secret is a hybrid where the Double is pearl particle, but everything else is pretty close.

If you wanted to expand for a couple more different looks, you could get an Attitude Shift for a little more angular look on oil, a T-Road Solid for a smoother look on mediums, or a Sure Fire for a smoother look on medium/medium-dryer conditions.

Thanks for the comments so far.

Yeah, I knew going into this question that the two balls are close, but are they so close that they are not worth having both?

The Double Agent starts its roll very early - but if I find enough oil for it the Double will still hook fairly strong in the backend for a dull particle (probably due to the pearl additive).  Since the Secret is Hybrid R2S at 4000 does that change the reaction enough to have both?  What if I drilled them differently?  I have the Double at 5x31/2 - maybe a 4x4 drill of the Secret?

I'm already planning on getting an Attitude, and I still am holding out hope for a phearl particle T-Road to replace my Ragin' Banshee.  I was thinking about a Secret for a real mudder.  Has anyone tried a Secret at 500?

I've never thrown most of the stuff you have or plan on getting, but from what I've seen and that you said you want to get an Attitude, I don't see the point in getting a Secret Agent also. The Attitude, Double Agent, and Special Agent cover all your looks for medium - drenched in my opinion. A Secret Agent would just make the choice of which to go to more confusing.

Fair enough, I understand your opinion.  However, it assumes that I will keep all of my current stuff while I am getting new balls.  Also, I am always looking for different looks for carry.  IMO getting to the pocket, even on the hardest patterns, is not that big of a deal.  Carrying at a reasonable rate is the goal.

Anyone who has thrown both the Double and the Secret please chime in.

I have both the double and secret agents.  I am a low speed, low to medium revs.  I don't know much about those technical terms but I have the double drilled with pin next to ring finger with cg just left of pin and centered between the finger and thumb hole.(hope you understand)  The pin on the secret is just below the ring finger with cg underneath it.  Both covers are out of box.  Both reactions are similiar but i use the double agent when i have to swing the ball more.  When I need to play a straighter line, I tend to have more success with the secret agt. Both are predictable.  Secret appears to go just a wee bit longer but hits very hard.

Had the double agent first. Probably should have gotten something other than the secret because they are so similiar.  I still love the ball, but if you're looking for a  totally different look, the secret may not be the one.

Just get a ball meant to go beneath the Double. There is no sense in having both at all. If the Double is early, get a ball meant to go longer.
