my (hree shot review of the reign of fire
« on: February 09, 2010, 01:51:19 AM »
So my ROF is drilled 25*x 4 1/2 x 50.

I decided to throw the ball during league practice to see how it worked.  After a few warm up shots with my reign. I grabbed the rof!

First shot I went right between 4th / 5th arrow and the ball, began to hook just past the arrows and it hit the 2 pin.

My teammate started laugh as was I at how early the ball setup. And there was nothing on the backend.

Second shot I moved deeper to go over the 5th arrow and I couldn't even get the ball past 15, and it hooked early again and burned up all its energy and just died going down the lanes.

The ball was left in box condition, so I am thinking possibly bringing it to 2000abralon or 4k.  And I was bowling on synthetics too.  My reign easily got down the lanes too...

My teammate also had a new invasion he was throwing on the same lanes and it had no issue getting down the lanes either.

1000 grit is a rough surface, add to that a aggressive coverstock, and a med to high flaring core and you've got a lot of friction on a house shot.

The ROF is a lot stronger than I thought it would be. Gave up on throwing it on a ths, and keeping it for tourneys. Tried it at 2000 and 4000 and it is still a beast!

I love the original box surface due to my high ball speed.. but I have worked with the cover just for testing purposes and found some luck with 4000 abralon.
