Code X
« on: March 29, 2018, 11:34:38 AM »
I had my Storm Code X drilled max aggressive for oily lane conditions. I threw the Storm Code X on a typical house shot 44'. I was quite surprised with what I got. I was expecting the Code X to be to aggressive and hard to control on a typical house shot because that was not what it was meant for specifically. I myself received an interesting outcome. I stood around board 32 and was trying to play the 8 board for my break point. When I hit my mark the Code X hit strong and had great pin carry. A few times I missed my shot to the right and hit the 4 board or thereabouts. The ball did in fact come back and the hit pocket. More times than not I did leave a 10 pin. A few times I missed inside around 10 or 11 and the Code X held and finished quite strong. The Code X does in fact have great continuation through pins. I did have room for error due to the outsides being a little drier than they usually are on league play.

If I was comparing this ball to one that I would consider my favorite of all time would be the Alpha Crux. I think this ball is slightly stronger than the Alpha Crux. The Code X allowed me to open up more angles to the pocket.

Whereas the Sure Lock which was my second favorite ball suffered on the backend slightly as I moved deeper inside. The Code X actually for me played slightly stronger and had better continuation through the pins when I played deeper inside.

Wow BamBam you must really see a lot of oil if all your favorite balls are heavy oil balls.  Its because of that and not because those balls also happen to have the largest margins for Storm right?

I agree and found the same this past week using the Code X in two leagues, I think one use a 39 foot house shot other is either 40 or 42 foot house shot. In both leagues I used the Code X until the middle of the 3rd game until I had to switch to the Code Black. The Code X works well, with some adjustments to where you line up, in heavy oil and even in medium oil as well.

I agree it is stronger than the Alpha Crux, and has excellent continuation through the pins. If you hit pocket you will strike, even at lower ball speed. I even had some Brooklyn strikes too.

The Code X quite good. Right now my most used balls are the Code X, Code Red, and Code Black.
