Any predictions to what will go next?
I'm going to say the Hectic will get yanked soon. I know the Rocket Ship is on it's way out. I would also venture to say the Phaze & Fight.
-
Hectic is on closeout on most sites already. your guess on the Rocketship may be early, but won't argue. It is a decent ball though, may be a sleeper. I think most people will agree that Phaze and Fight won't be hanging around. The new Sure Lock will probably put the Alpha Crux out next.
-
I think the HyWire, Hectic, Fight, Phase, and Rocket Ship for sure.
I think there's a chance the Street Fight could be a quick discontinue
-
Hectic for sure. The Haywire going soon with the Dare Devil Trick coming out wouldn't surprise me either. I think the Hy-Wire will stick around for a bit longer. That's about it for Roto Grip.
In terms of Storm the Lock could be up next. They've got a lot of balls at the top price level and something has to give. Rocket Ship seems to be on the way out with the Torrent coming. The Hy-Road Pearl could be at the end of it's run too.
-
If the Hy-Road Pearl gets dropped I'll be swooping in for another one of those for sure. I wondered about the Haywire and HyWire going before we saw a pearl stateside. The Dare Devil kind of took that glory though.
RocketShip for sure because that's how I got a deal from my PSO on it and I do think it might be a sleeper that I couldn't let pass.
Lock & Alpha Crux is an interesting situation. I can't quite gauge them.
-
I'm punching a haywire, hyroad Pearl, and an IQ tour solid. Already got a rocket ship. Fight was terrible so was the phaze...Don't waste your $

I see you replaced your Dream with the Code Black. Had a chance to throw the Code Black and No Rules Pearl together?

I guess everyone forgot the Unhinged.......

Forgot? It's not an active ball to become disco'd.

Everyone on here complains about the phaze but there are people in my area that swear by that ball. And it is still a huge seller in the pro shop I go to an hour away. I'm half tempted to pick one up myself because it seems like the type of ball that would be great in my hands

I think the first batch of balls were suspect at best. I have a teammate that has a 2nd or 3rd generation Phaze and it is money for him.

Although the Alpha Crux is the oldest oiler on the market at this point in time, a lot of staffers have been throwing it lately. I saw quite a few using them yesterday during the PBA Player's Championship. Also, Lavoie used one to win Shark and BJ Moore used it on 2 telecasts during the WSOB. To me it would be hard to take that ball out of staffers hands right now - but since it's the oldest oiler on the market, you would think they would discontinue it soon.

My PSO loves it and still recommends it if that's the type of ball you need. The ball has been money on TV lately. I do think it'll stick around for a minute still.

I'm not sure how much love the Hectic has received on here but I love mine. Surface is a fresh 2000 plus a heavy dose of Storm Xtra shine and it's been money on a THS on an older wood surface. I'm able to get out in the friction some with it and with the higher RG and moderate diff it's not too sideways. If I need some more off the spot my Snap Lock at 4000 is there but this is a good step down from that when I need more length and a less off the spot. It's a versatile ball as I've found success with it playing multiple lines....
Ultimately, it's a good ball when there's plenty of friction and a good burn ball.
I also have a Rocket Ship. I can't comment too much on it as I only have about 2 games on it but I have it drilled to be a control ball that's really rolly. I think this ball will find more time on flatter patterns and also super wet/dry synthetics...
-
Hectic is a great step down from the code black...definitely one of my favorites so I've got a two stashed away.
-
For what it's worth I think the HP2 line/category from Roto Grip is the best in the business. There's always a couple of gems in there. No surprise the Hectic worked for you two. Just seems like that ball didn't sell well at all.
-
I think the Hectic was just overshadowed by the option of the Hy-Road Pearl in most cases.

What are you talking about? If anything it was overshadowed by the Sky Rocket and to some degree the Uproar which is a sensational ball, not the Hyroad Pearl.

Quite possibly. That just happened to be how it went in my area. I think the pink didn't help it.
-
The Match Pearl coming out didn't do the Hectic any favors either, although I don't think that ball is particularly popular either.
-
For the first time in quite some time the high end balls out of Utah are better that the low and mid. Probably why sales aren't there. There is a lot of options that are great in the assymtrical line up

True. The HP4/asymmetrical balls from Roto Grip have typically been really good but Storm's are finally back too. It was pretty hit-or-miss since the Virtual Gravity balls.
