I have a Vertigo that has done very well for me but lately it's been kind of a dog. It doesn't finish like I would like it to. I know it's because of the shot that's been put out lately. Has anyone polished their Vertigo and would it help me get a better back end? Thanks

Polish usually will give any ball more back end. Try magic shine by track. It's a very good polish that will give you a bigger back end. If you don't like it you can always change the cover back to where you had it.

A fellow bowler with LOTS of hand shined up his Vertigo because it would break too early OOB on our sport shot at the club house. He experimented quite a lot with the grade of polish (I suppose he used Brunswick's High Glos Polish). I think he sanded the ball to 400 grit and applied not too much polish. Ball became much longer, still with a hard arcing break point, but with much more and dramatic back end. Polish should be worth a try, seems to work well on the Vertigo coverstock. If it does not work, you still can sand the ball back to OOB or some higher grit finish without polish - on solid balls, this can do wonders, too.
